LSU Football Lands Commitment from Prized Georgia Defensive Lineman

Jayden Daniels, Ranked As One of the Top Players in the Country

LSU Football has received a commitment from one of the top recruits in the country - five-star defensive lineman Jayden Daniels of Lowndes High School.

Daniels, a 6’4, 300-pound defensive tackle, is widely considered one of the top players in the 2025 class with offers from virtually every major college football program in the country.

Exciting Time for LSU Fans

The commitment is a major development for first-year LSU head coach Brian Kelly, who is rebuilding the Tigers' roster after last season’s dismal 6-7 finish.

Daniels is LSU’s third five-star commitment for the 2025 class, joining quarterback Colin Hurley and wide receiver Shelton Sampson.

Daniels Ranked Among Nation's Best

According to ESPN, Daniels is the No. 11 overall player and the No. 3 defensive tackle in the 2025 class.

247Sports ranks him as the No. 13 overall player and the No. 3 defensive tackle, while Rivals ranks him as the No. 16 overall player and the No. 3 defensive tackle.

High School Standout

At Lowndes, Daniels was a dominant player who totaled 102 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, and 18 sacks in his sophomore and junior seasons.

Daniels was also named the Georgia Class 6A Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.
